Yes, the rear bar on the Erickson Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # EM07707 can be removed without disassembling the entire rack.But it is not an easy task because there are 3-4 bolts per side as you can see in the attached photo. Your are also restricted from driving with the rear bar detached because it plays too much of a part in the overall stability of the rack.
I recommend going with the Buyers Products Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # 3371501150. As you can see in the attached photo, the rear bar is very easy to remove with just one pin so you will not even need any tools to do so. This option also has a higher weight capacity by 200 lbs and is a fit for your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
