Yes - All was good - its just more than I would like to pay right now - would this one cause CEL or any other codes ? C59236

The ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT that you referenced would not cause any error codes on the dash of your 2016 BMW X5 as long as it's installed properly. Basically your vehicle wouldn't know this was installed since it basically uses sensors wrapped around the taillight wiring to know what turn signal circuit to apply on the trailer wiring and then draws it's power from the battery directly.

I attached an install video for this kit on a very similar 2015 X5 as yours for you to check out as well.

The Curt trailer wiring harness part # C59236 would not cause any CEL codes. It would install similarly to the ZCI except you'd need to use the included quick splices to make connections to vehicle wiring. It's a little more invasive but will work great and cost less. The ZCI install video that I attached can also be used as a guide for finding the wiring as well. You'd just use the quick splices instead of the sensors.
