Can I Fit a Padlock On the Latch of the Pivot Lock Hitch Pin?

Question:

Could I use a padlock to secure the pivoting lock pin, to make it more secure? I know there are locking hitch receivers but they all use keys and I want to use a combination lock.

You can use a combination padlock on the Pivot Lock Hitch Pin # 37201031, but you would need to find one with a shackle diameter of less than .25" to fit in the slot on the latch. The Master Lock Combination Padlock # ML4688D has a thin cable shackle with a .125" diameter and would be a good fit on this hitch pin.
