Ultra-Fab Skid Wheel Recommendation for 15,000 Lb 42 Foot 5th Wheel Trailer

Published 01/08/2020

Question:

I have a 42’ 5th wheel with a weight capacity of 15,000 lb so my question is what is the weight capacity of one of these 6” casters?

The manufacturer does not test or provide a weight capacity rating for these caster wheels because they are not designed to bear or support your RV's weight for a significant period of time. Instead, they are designed to merely redirect the weight. The # UF48-979013 you referenced, is designed for use with Class A RV's that are 34 foot and longer, so these will work perfectly on your 42 foot 5th wheel trailer. The complete kit with brackets and hardware.

I've attached a photo review from another one of our customers who successfully used the # UF48-979013 on his 44 foot Cyclone Toy Hauler 5th wheel trailer that has a weight capacity of 17,000 lbs.

Please note that none of our skid wheels, including these, are recommended for use on diesel pusher motorhomes due to the extreme rear-end weight of the motorhome.
