Review of Ultra-Fab ProduCTS Skid Wheels UF48-979013

Today we're gonna be taking a look at part number UF48-979013. This is the Ultra Fab skid wheels for class A RV's 34 feet and longer. The unique castors are going to bolt onto the frame of your RV to help prevent tail dragging and digging in while backing up. Your hardware is included. In our description, again, we do mention that it's a bolt on installation. You're going to find that the instructions are actually going to recommend that you weld the plate onto the frame of your RV and then you bolt on the plate to the master plate.

That's going to be the ideal situation and that's what we're going to recommend for you to do. The unit's made from a sturdy steel construction. It's going to have the extra durable roller bearings, they're going to be very long lasting. Now each assembly is going to feature two grease fittings: one down here for the wheel, and then one up here for the swivel design. That way correct maintenance can be carried out and you can still depend on the smooth operation as long as you keep those greased, and they're very easy to grease. You just hook up the grease guns to the fittings and pump the grease in there. You'll notice here that we have the steel wheel.

Now that's going to feature a quarter inch thick eurothane layer on the outer edge. That's going to provide anti-skid barriers. It's also going to ensure that the wheel lasts a lot longer. Again, this is designed for class A motor homes 34 feet and longer. The diameter of our wheel, that's going to measure six inches.

With this part number you're going to get two castor assemblies. I'm going to take just a few minutes to go over some critical measurements here. Now these are measurements that we're referencing to because a lot of customers have asked questions on these measurements before. The plates right here, now again, ideally these plates are going to get welded to the frame of the RV. These are going to measure going this direction about 8 and 11/16ths of an inch, and then if we measure this direction that's going to give us a measurement of about 4 1/2 inches. The holes here on the center, these are going to be separated on center by I'd say about 3/8ths of an inch.

The bottom holes and the top holes, these are going to be separated center on center by pretty close to 5 1/4. It's about 5 3/16ths of an inch. If we go up and down, so measuring this direction between the holes, that's going to give us a measurement on center about 3 1/8th of an inch. Then if we measure that diagonal distance that we have, that's going to give us a measurement center on center about 1 7/8ths of an inch. Now when it comes to the castor plate, this is going to give us a measurement of 6 1/4 of an inch by 4 1/2 inches. These holes are going to line up with those 4 main holes on that mounting plate, so once the mounting plate's welded onto the frame of the RV you can bolt the castor plate onto the mounting plate, and that's going to offer your nice secure connection. IN the instructions it's going to give both options, you can bolt the mounting plates on, but again it is going to recommend that you do weld them on. Blast measurement I want to go over. It's simply the height. If I measure from the top of the castor plate to the bottom of the wheel, that's going to give us a measurement that looks to be about 7 and 7/8ths of an inch. If I go from the bottom of that castor plate to the top of the wheel, or the bottom of the wheel, that's going to be 7 1/2 inches. That's going to do it for our review of part number UF48-979013 These are the Ultra Fab skid wheels for class A RV's 34 feet and longer. .
