Loose chains and exposed handles create risk on the road or when parked. This ratchet binder delivers 8,800 lbs of holding power with a fold-over handle, 3/8" cradle grab hook, and 1/2" slip hook, keeping chain connections tight.
Loads can shift as you drive, and uneven tension across chains makes it worse. The ratchet mechanism works with a 1" ACME screw to apply and hold tension as you tighten, keeping pressure across the connection. Once set, the chain stays engaged and holding position while driving.
Handles that stick out can move during transport or draw attention when parked. The forged handle folds down against the binder body, reducing extension and limiting movement from vibration. With the handle tucked in, the setup stays compact and in place.
Not every load lines up with the same connection points. This binder uses a 3/8" cradle grab hook and 1/2" slip hook to give multiple attachment options. That flexibility keeps the chain properly engaged across different setups.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Durabilt ratchet binder with fold-over handle. Now this is a heavy duty ratchet-style load binder that's designed to securely tighten transport chains when you're hauling equipment or materials. This has a 8,800 pound working load limit, so this is gonna be a solid choice for medium duty securement jobs like tractors, skid steers, construction materials, or other heavy loads. And with a 17,600 pound proof load, you know it's built with a strong safety margin.
Now one of the standout features is the hook setup. On one end, you have a half-inch slip hook, and then on the other end, you have a three-eighths of an inch cradle grab hook. So that combination's going to give you flexibility when connecting to different chain setups or anchor points. This is designed to work with five-sixteenths of an inch to three-eighths of an inch transport chains, which are common sizes in hauling applications. So instead of a lever style binder that snaps into place, this uses a ratcheting mechanism with a one-inch diameter Acme screw.
So this heavy screw is gonna give you smooth, controlled tensioning and long-term durability. So I have it now in the ratcheting position, but this screw, if I give it a turn, then that's going to allow me to freely spin this to get that tension that I'm looking for. And then I can just turn that screw back, lock it into place, and then that'll allow me to ratchet it in position, and to get that perfect tension set up. So another practical feature is the forged fold over handle. So if you notice here, you can't see it on that side.
Let me slide this over here. We've got a release button here. So as you can see, it's locked down currently, but if I push that button, that's going to allow me to extend it, and then it's gonna lock into place. And then when I'm ready to fold it back down, I'll push that down, and then that'll allow me to fold it back down. So that's pretty cool.
The eight inch of take-up means that you're gonna have plenty of adjustment range to get your chain tight without struggling. So this is gonna help, especially with the fold up handle, the folding handle, that's gonna help reduce handle movement during transport. It's also gonna make it less likely that someone is going to be able to tamper with this. Let me give you some measurements here. So I'm gonna make sure that I'm in the, I've got everything closed in, or retracted, if you will. So let me go back out to my wide view here so you can get a better view. So looking at just the overall length when this is closed, this is just gonna be a rough measurement, a measuring end of hook to end of hook. It looks like we're kind of close to about 25 and a half inches when it's closed. And then when this is fully extended, it's gonna be about 33 and a half inches. The barrel, let me go back out to, or back in, rather, to a close-up here. The barrel is about 10 inches just by itself, 10 inches long. And then when the handle is fully extended, like so, make sure I'm in frame here, we are sitting pretty close to 14 inches, if you can see that. So this is going to give you good leverage without being oversized. Now if you have any other questions, whether it's about this binder or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out to us, 'cause ultimately, we do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need.
