Troubleshooting Overstuffed Yakima SkyBox Not Opening

Question:
i think it is over stuffed, and now i can get the back latch to unlatch but the front latch will not unhook.

If the front arm/hinge on your Yakima SkyBox Cargo Box like the SkyBox 12 # Y07334 isn't unhooking due to the carrier being over-stuffed, then your only real option is to try and wiggle around your cargo enough to get some clearance between it and the arm. Since you're able to release the back hinge you should hopefully be able to open the box just enough to slide something inside to maybe move some of your belongings around to try and disengage that front hinge to open the box fully.
It's likely that something is just pushed up against the hinge that needs to be moved slightly. It sounds silly but maybe even just removing the loaded box from the vehicle and setting it on its side or upright to try and shift some of the cargo will be enough to do this.

Hi, My Yakima skybox top won’t close. I think it’s the hinges. I drove to NC from Va, opened one side of skybox and whole top dislodged. Please help hurricane Debby is coming. Lauren
