Will closing the flaps in the door constantly ruin the weatherstripping on the door eventually?

For as many units of the # 288-06603 as we've sold, not one customer has reported any sort of damage to their vehicle door's weatherstripping. So, it's safe to say that unless you plan on leaving the cover on for months and months at a time (other covers are available specifically for long term storage), you have nothing to worry about. Automotive weatherstripping is typically made of a mixed rubber material that is naturally very elastic and long lasting. Before closing the doors, just make sure the cover's flaps aren't excessively bunched up and you'll be just fine!
