I recommend to use the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 in the 7-Way of your 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 to bypass the factory controller. The Curt Echo only needs an active 12V circuit on the 7-Way to function because of it's internal sensors that senses when the truck is braking and activates the trailer brakes. It doesn't utilize the other functions of the integrated brake controller so there is not any additional wiring needed just plug it inline with the 7-Way plug and control the setting via a smart device Apple 8.0-newer or Android 4.4-newer. I have attached a couple of videos for your reference.
