The turnover ball is stuck in the downwards position the release on the drivers side is out. Min

Gooseneck ball shanks like what the Companion hitch part # BWRVK3500 uses to connect to the truck bed sometimes can be difficult to release if left installed for a length of time. Best option is to get underneath truck bed and spray penetrating lube like WD40 everywhere you can near the ball and the release levers. It also helps to do this from the top of the hitch as well. Let it soak for a bit and see if that helps release it. You might also hit the ball shank with a rubber mallet to help try and break it free as well.
