How to Remove RV Sewer Pipes From Cable Actuated Waste Valve?

Updated 03/02/2025 | Published 11/22/2019

Question:

How do you break loose/remove the old LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve for Black Water Tank - Spigot to Hub? I understand if youre just replacing the valve but this has the pipe attached to both sides. Thanks!

In order to install a new Cable Actuator RV Waste Valve # 34466N4AB96GMA, you're likely going to need to cut off the pipes at the spigot and hub in order to install the new waste valve. It's more than likely that ABS sealant was used to weld the pipes to the connections; you can try using concentrated heat (350 degrees Fahrenheit) or acetone, but it's unlikely that those are going to loosen the pipes enough to pull them out of the connections. During this process you may need to replace some of the pipe to match lengths, depending on your RV setup.

Is there a video on this subject? What is the spigot and hub? We cannot get the new valve in.
