I am happy to help you with the components needed to flat tow a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. A complete flat tow system includes a base plate, tow bar, tow bar wiring, safety cables, braking system and possibly a high low adapter.
For the base plate, I recommend Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit part # RM-521451-5 which is a direct connect base plate that does not require an obtrusive cross bar on the front of your vehicle like the other base plate options. The direct connect option is a cleaner look because of it's hidden brackets. I have attached an installation video for your reference. Please keep me in mind this base plate does not fit Jeeps with active air shutters.
I recommend Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain part # RM-522 for the tow bar. The Falcon All Terrain features a Freedom Latch that allows you to release the tension of the tow setup even when the vehicle and the motor home are not perfectly lined up compared to other tow bars that require the setup to be perfectly level. For the safety cables, I recommend part # RM-645.
The next part you need is tow bar wiring Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267. The Roadmaster diode kit comes with a 6-way plug for the front of the vehicle and a coiled cord that connects the Jeep to the motor home for a clean install.
Most states do require a supplemental braking system so the Jeep's brakes activate when the motor home brakes activate. The best option is the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo part # SM99251 because once it's installed the convenience of the system outweighs the other options. The Stay-IN-Play features a air actuating cylinder that depresses the brake pedal when activated by the motor home's signal through the main unit that mounts under the dash. The unobtrusive and inconspicuous cylinder can stay in the Jeep even when you want to drive around once you get the campground. Other portable supplemental braking systems that sit in the floor board of the tow vehicle require removal each time you want to drive the Jeep.
If your motor home happens to have air brakes, you will need the Demco Air Force One part # SM99243.
Finally the last component is a high a low adapter to tow the motor home and Jeep level. I have attached an article that helps to determine the amount of rise or drop you may need in a high low adapter to tow level. I have also attached a link of the high low adapters we carry.
