Is Sleeve Hitch Adapter Normally Difficult to Remove From Truck Hitch

I cannot get the sleeve out of the hitch, is this common?

I wouldn't say it's common for a sleeve style hitch adapter like the # DTADP35 to be difficult to remove from a 2-1/2 hitch...unless it's a Ford hitch as they sometimes have corners that are more radiused which creates issues.

On a 2016 GMC Sierra like yours I would not have guessed it would get stuck. Did it slide in easily and then become difficult to remove? If so, that would indicate maybe some dirt and/or corrosion got in there and is preventing it from coming out easily. How long was it in the hitch?
