How to Manually Raise and Lower Jacks on Lippert Ground Control 3.0 with Faulty Control Module

Question:

Hello my ground control 3.0 control module is malfunctioning and will not let us operate it when not plugged into an electrical source. We have to take our camper in for warranty work but we can not get the camper to lift up enough to get my truck under at the storage unit. I know you can use a 3/8 socket extension and a 5/16 socket to manually lift or lower the jacks but will they lift up under full weight of the camper?

Yes, you can either use a 3/8" drive ratchet and extension (no socket) at the top of the jack motor (A) or a 3/8" drive ratchet, ratchet extension and 5/16" socket at the bottom of the jack motor (B) to manually raise or lower the jacks. This feature is built in for situations exactly like yours so that the jacks can still be operated in the event of power failure under normal circumstances which means even with the trailer fully loaded. Basically, as long as your jacks were able to function at that weight with power, you are safe to operate them manually as well.

It is recommended to unplug the power harness to the motor prior to manually overriding the jacks. You can refer to pages 6-7 in the owner's manual and the video I have attached below around the 7:50 min mark.

Just in case, the correct replacement control module for the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 4-Point set # LC358590 is # LC304136 or # LC346005 for the 6-Point set # LC675817.
