Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: Pre-Activated Overload Support

Heavy trailers and bed loads can make your suspension squat and throw off handling. The TorkLift StableLoad system fills the gap between your standard leaf springs and lower overload springs, pre-activating the overloads so they work from the start. That means steadier support, less bounce when you hit bumps, and a level stance that keeps steering and braking predictable when towing or hauling.

Smooth Out the Rough Stuff: Less Sway, Bounce, and Body Roll

When your truck sways on uneven ground or feels like it’s porpoising over speed bumps, this kit helps settle it down. By engaging the factory overload springs earlier, the StableLoads reduce side-to-side sway and body roll that air bag systems alone can’t fix. The result is a smoother ride that feels planted whether you’re climbing mountain grades or cruising the highway with a heavy load.

Switch Between Loaded and Unloaded Rides in Seconds: Quick-Disconnect Design

You don’t have to live with a stiff ride when you’re not hauling. The stainless steel StableLoad pads use a hinged quick-disconnect setup that pivots in or out of position with a standard ratchet and 3/8" extension. Engage them for solid load support on workdays, then swing them out for your normal factory feel once the trailer is unhooked or the bed is empty.

Built to Last Through Years of Heavy Use: Stainless Steel Construction

Durability matters when your suspension gear sees constant weight and weather. These StableLoads are made from stainless steel for long-term strength and corrosion resistance. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, they deliver dependable performance season after season without leaks or loss of function.

Works Alongside Air Bag Systems: Balanced Load Distribution

If you already run air bags, this setup complements them instead of competing with them. Adding StableLoads lets you carry weight across the whole suspension instead of relying solely on air pressure. You’ll need less psi in the bags to maintain ride height, keeping your suspension working as designed while improving overall stability under heavy payloads.

Video Transcript for Review of TorkLift Vehicle Suspension - StableLoad Upgrade Lower Overload Springs - TL77QV

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this TorkLift Stable Load Suspension Upgrade with Quick Disconnect for your lower overload springs. Now, this kit is designed to work with your 2020 and newer Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra 3500, both the 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive models. And on custom-fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our Vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer.com. Just input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our Fit Guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, this suspension upgrade is going to smooth out your ride by cutting down on sway and body roll.

The lower factory overload springs on your truck are designed to help compensate for a large payload. When you're hauling a heavy load, your truck's standard leaf springs can't always counteract the weight of it, so as a result, if you hit a bump when your suspension is fully loaded, the leaf springs will give and cause your truck to bottom out. The overload springs are going to help keep this from happening by mounting beneath the leaf springs to provide points of contact for the stressed springs. Now, there is a natural gap between your truck's standard leaf springs and its lower overload springs. This gap is going to allow the upper leaf springs to flex a bit before making contact with the overload springs, but having this gap creates a situation where bounce or jounce often occurs.

Now, these StableLoads are designed to fill the gap between your standard springs and your overload springs. This pre-activates the overload springs, ensuring that they're engaged from the start instead of engaging only when your leaf springs make contact, at which point you probably already felt the jarring. Now, as you can see here, I have this laid out on my table in parts here, but on your screen I'm kind of giving you an idea what these are gonna look like assembled when they're mounted underneath your truck, so I just, again, just wanted to kind of give you an idea of what the finished product is going to look like. These are going to work seamlessly with aftermarket airbag suspension systems, and by enhancing your lower overload springs in the way described above that I mentioned previously, you're gonna notice less sway and body roll. This is gonna be due to the pre-loading effect of these StableLoads.

It's gonna help better distribute the weight of your payload over the entirety of your factory suspension. So, this is the primary difference between these and many airbag overload systems. So, these StableLoads can be quickly and easily engaged or disengaged. The Quick Disconnect design is gonna allow you to pivot the wedge pack, the piece that sits between the springs in and out of position with a standard ratchet and a 3/8 of an inch extension, which is not included. So, as a result, you can get a stable load when you're weighted down and return to your regular ride when you are done hauling.

So, this includes everything that you see here, along with instructions to guide you through that installation process. I know I kinda gave you a lot of information there, but if you happen to have any other additional questions, don't hesitate to give us a call. We do want to be sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. But I think it's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

Our setup: Truck - 2020 Ford F150 with heavy duty tow package. Travel trailer 600 lb. + tongue weight and 4,800 lbs dry weight and Anderson No-Sway Weight Distribution hitch.
Purchased all late May 2020 and took a number of relatively short camping trips and found the front end of truck to feel light which affected steering and front end sway. Had a 3,000 mile Yellowstone trip planned for early September 2020 but considered cancelling it due to what I felt to be an unsafe handling situation. Semi's would really pull and push our setup when passing us. After researching towing issues and products we choose TorkLift StableLoad Suspension upgrade. After installation we took a couple of late August trips to test the results. I was amazed on how much improvement theses small devices made in handling and stability. We took our Yellowstone trip and all went well. No concern over handling so we felt so much safer than prior to installation. In all honesty, if the handling had not improved we would have cancelled our long journey. What we learned through our experience is that it is so much about reducing rear-suspension sag. The TorkLift upgrade did in fact significantly reduce that sag which put weight back on the front suspension thereby improving steering and handling. Once installed the TorkLift devices are simple to engage and disengage. Note, that this review and our experience includes the use of a weight distribution hitch which I consider essential to a complete travel trailer towing package.
Our only suggestion is that the installation instructions were of better quality. Not much to ask considering the price of the product (but well worth the $$ given the results).

Just received it today and packed very well. Not going to install it right away but I will be curious as to how the install goes. Update to follow. Thanks e trailer for the fast shipping!

by:

Installed them today. They gave my hitch 2.5 inch lift after installing the camper in the bed. Dropped airbag pressure from 30 to 10 pounds. Instructions were pretty straight forward. I would recommend these for anyone hauling a camper or heavy load.

by:

I my opinion they provide firmer support, stability and less sway than airbags as they use the factory suspension more effectively. I’ve been using airbags for the last seven years and I am kicking myself for not using these sooner!

by:

Fit was good, though did have to some machine work.
Drilling out holes and filing some over looked production methods.
I also noticed that they are not all machined the same on the line up of the metal spacers.

I would have bought these years ago if I would’ve known how good they work…. They are nothing short of amazing!

by:

I am totally satisfied with the way the product installed and how it performs on my 2018 Ram 3500 dually with the Lance 1172 slide in camper on it. Would totally recommend it.

by:

I thank you guys for installation videos and the ease at which things can be installed. I thank you also for great customer seervice and support. The TorkLift Stabilizers work incredibly well and I am very happy for what little effort it took to install them!

by:

Fantastic. I found a local shop to install them on my 2017 Colorado Diesel for 2 hours of labor. The difference was amazing. Previously I felt my boat was going to push me off of the road. With the TorkLift installed I am much more relaxed. It seems my truck is more relaxed too because I saw a 2mpg increase while towing.

I didn't realize that to disengage them it would require me to jack up the truck, but they are not bothersome driving around town while engaged.

So glad I bought these. I feel like it saved me from purchasing a new truck.

by:

Adding the Tork Lift stable load suspension really helped my truck from sagging when I load up the in-bed camper. The ride is smooth and the truck handles very well. The installation was generally easy and the instructions were spot on. I highly recommend these if you want a stable ride and no sagging.

by:

Very easy to install on my 2018 GMC 3500 dually. Fortunately the holes were already there. They perform as expected while catting a heavy truck camper.

by:

The stable loads function as advertised.
By engaging the overload spring the rear of my truck has almost zero squat when I load my camper. I belong to several online camper forums. Most of the members seem to push air bag, but constantly complain issues. The stable loads have functioned well and my trucks suspension works as designed.

by:

Here are some pics of my installed Torklift Stableloads after drilling through my springs on a 2020 F250. I had to loosen and shift my exhaust pipe to drill the hole in that spring. Applied pressure to my drill with a floor-jack and went with low RPM on the supplied drill bits. I am very happy with etrailer’s quick shipping and the Torklift Stableload product worked as advertised

by:

Installed the torklift stable load suspension kit on my Ford F-150. Was very easy to do following the instructions included or directly from the website. Once installed solved all of my suspensions sway by lifting the load and putting more weight on the front wheels. Immediately corrected the steering problems and distributed the load evenly so the truck was level. They are also very easy to engage or disengage from the leaf springs. No more airbags, or air shocks for me.

by:

Easy installation, progress and easy to understand instructions. The assembly was actually very enjoyable kind of like putting together a puzzle when you were a kid I had intended on using the upper stabilizers, but after the installation of the lowers, they worked so well the uppers would not be needed Strongly recommend this product

by:

Product was moderately easy to install and fit as prescribed. First time we Loaded our camper it made a substantial difference in the headlight aim and vehicle stability. This is a great upgrade that allows the truck to run level when the camper is loaded.

I was able to get them installed. They seem secure and stout and I am sure they will do the job they are intended for but for the cost I was disappointed in the attention to detail. I literally had to get out files and a grinder to clean up the burrs in the holes so bolts would fit and grind off what appeared to be welding splatter or plasma slag from off of flat surfaces that are supposed to lay flat against each other when together. For the money they should be polished and not just pulled off of the plasma table and thrown in a box. Also the drill bits they sent although appreciated didn’t even hardly mark my springs. Had to go buy cobalt bits and use my floor Jack to get the dimples drilled. I am grateful for the new dimple design so that I didn’t have to try and drill 3/8 or 1/2 inch holes all the way through the spring. Over all I’m pleased but should be half the cost.

My review is specific to the Stable Loads for my 2014 Ram 3500 SRW 4x4 Diesel Pickup truck. First, the package arrived a day ahead of the delivery schedule. Inventory of the kit showed it was complete and matched the list of contents included. The overall impression was that this is a very well made and manufactured system. The stainless steel option seems to be well worth the small added cost. The instructions from TorkLift are a little vague in places so here are a couple of pointers. First, I needed more spacer washers than were provided with the kit due to the thickness of the lower spring. I was short a total of 4 washers. It seems like this is a simple detail that others should have made TorkLift aware of. Surprisingly, I found no mention of this on-line or in videos. Another vague area is regarding the orientation of the bracket on the spring pack itself. on my truck, I needed to install the stable load to the inside - between the frame and the spring. I tried to install the rear stable load to the outside (tire side) but found that even with stock size tires, the clearance was too close for my comfort (less that 1 inch between the bracket and the tire sidewall. On my truck, there is a wiring harness along the bottom of the frame at the rear drivers side that had to be adjusted closer to the frame to provide clearance for the bracket. Otherwise, all 3 of the other mounting locations had adequate room for the inside mounting location. Also, for my truck, using two of the three wedges provided the right thickness for proper engagement. Another note is that for my Ram, I did not have to drill out the springs because the rubber pad is installed into a hole on the overload spring. The hole is slightly larger that the diameter of the mounting bolt. This did not seem to affect the installation but again, it seems a bushing of some sort would be a good addition to the kit. Installation time was a bit longer that what I have seen mentioned by others but still, a few hours and it was ready for a test drive.

With the stable loads engaged, the empty ride is a bit stiffer that stock but not objectionable. The real test will be with the 3000lb+ camper installed. That review will have to wait.

E Trailer was great to order from and had the best price I could find on-line. This is the 4th or 5th time I have ordered from E Trailer and have never been disappointed.

by:

Just what I needed to stop porpoising and help level the truck with the truck camper. Online showed one block would be assembled, which was not. Would’ve helped as I had to take it apart two times. As normal all torklift products have been top quality.

by:

This review is based solely on the quality of the parts MANUFACTURED by Torklift.
The problem: EVERY hole cut in the wedge plates had small "burrs" that prervented the bolts from passing through the holes. I had to file the burrs off every hole in order to assemble the StableLoad units. (It appears that the laser-cutter they are using is leaving the burrs and no one took the time to check the quality of the final product before sending the product out for instillation). It was a bit frustrating and time consuming for me to fix. I reached out to TorkLift , described the problem, sent them pictures of the problem and am still waiting for a response.

ETrailer did a GREAT JOB getting them to me in a timely manner. Your website made it easy to order and delivery was prompt. Thank you for that!
Hopefully, TorkLift will get back to me and I can change the rating I gave this product.

by:

These worked great to minimize the squatting that my F250 was experiencing with my Lance truck camper loaded in the back. No more bucking either and it rides way better than it did with Timbrens. I recommend getting yourself a better drill bit than the one that comes with the kit, if you don't already have the hole in your leaf spring.

by:

They didn’t improve much of anything after I installed. Thought my ride quality would have improved but just minimized about 1/2”less in squating but was pleased with the ease of install

I am sorry to hear they didn't get you as level as you hoped Landon. What is your year, make, model, and how heavy of a load are you hauling?

by:

Great product. Excellent quality. I would like to have one unit pre-built (put together) for ease of building the other 3. Took longer to put together and configure than to install!

by:

I can not rate this product because it will not mount on my truck. 2021 Chevy Silverado High Country 3500HD 6.6l gasoline engine. I returned to Etrailer with no issues.

by:

I Installed these on my 2025 GMC 3500 HD DRW. We also have upper stable loads and a HELLWIG rear sway bar installed prior. We are carrying a 4500 lb Truck camper- Northern Lite 10-2.
The upper overloads handle squat very well, and the sway bar handles side to side movement, but this lower overload has made the most difference. The truck feels more stable over bumps and road imperfections, and also during turns. Noticeably it feels more planted when driving. We used two wedges in all 4 of the locations. Mounted the front two on the frame side and the rears on the tire side. Just had to lift the rear a little and use a crowbar on the lower overload spring to slip in the shallow head mounting bolt. Product looks to be well-made and well thought out - Etrailer did a great job shipping. If we were to do it again, we would probably start with this product first before we did anything else.
Highly recommend.
