Hitch Extender for 2017 Ford F-350 With 3 Inch Factory Hitch

Question:

Good afternoon, I have a 2017 F350 long bed. I am looking to put a truck camper on the back that will only hang over approx 16-18.inch I have a factory 3 inch receiver on the truck. I have several different trailers that I would like to be able to tow behind my truck. I always prefer to go with equipment that is rated well above what I am doing. What kind of strength and extensions are available that would take advantage of the 3 inch receiver and give me the most possible capacity for trailer towing?

There is one extender that will work with the 3 inch factory hitch on your 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty, the TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension, and it comes in three different lengths: 36" Long # TLE1636, 42" Long # TLE1642 and 48" Long # TLE1648.

The shorter 36 inch extension, which is likely what you can use since you mentioned the camper will only hang over 16 inches to 18 inches, has a towing capacity of 3,600 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 360 lbs, though that rating is increased to 7,200 lbs towing and 720 lbs tongue weight if you use a weight distribution system such as the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET with the TorkLift extension.
