What is the recommended lube type, placement and frequency for the Curt 16570 Roller?

For their # C16541 A20 5th Wheel Hitch, Curt recommends using a quality white lithium grease like the 14 oz cartridge available as # L11354. Curt recommends applying a thin layer of grease of the rails that the roller rides against before each trip, and running the hitch fore and aft several times before locking it back in place. At the beginning of each trip, examine the grease on the rails and if it's become dirty or gritty, wipe off the excess and reapply.

The hitch itself needs lubrication as well. The right and left hand jaw have grease fittings visible from either side of the hitch head, and the lower bearing also has a fitting which is visible by looking downward through the hitch jaws. The spiral cam needs to be greased as well, you can see the procedure for that on page 8 of the owner's manual. The procedure for that is kind of difficult to describe, but once you see it in the owner's manual it should become clear. The skid plate needs to be lubricated as well, but you can avoid that mess by using a lube plate like part # 16721.
