Review of HitchGrip Accessories and Parts 303-HG-712

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the hitch grip carrying tool. Now this carrying tool allows you to lift, carry, install, and remove your ball mount or weight distribution head assembly with ease. It also keeps your hands off of your ball mount or weight head assembly, which keeps them clean. You don't have to worry about getting them dirty or greasy anymore by using this tool. When it comes to the construction of the tool, it features that glass-filled nylon body and handle. It's also designed to evenly distribute the weight of your ball mount any time you lift with the tool. Also, the ergonomic design is designed so that it reduces stress and risk of back strain.

The unit features tungsten carbide tips that firmly grip and hold the hitch ball. Then we have the powder coated 12 gauge steel plates, which reinforce the carbide tips, for added strength and durability. Very simple to use. It's easy to use. There's no moving parts.

All you have to do is position the hitch grip on your hitch ball. It is designed to work with a 2 5/16" ball, so please keep that in mind. Now you can lift the unit using the tool, and you can slide the ball mount in or out of your receiver. You can easily move it from the hitch to the garage, or from the garage to the shop. It just makes transporting your ball mount or your weight distribution head assembly a lot easier. Now on heavier items like my weight distribution head assembly, it's a lot heavier than my ball mount.

So on something like this, I can definitely do it with one hand, but it's a lot more comfortable if I go ahead and bring in the other, and move it around that way. So it's easy to use, very comfortable to use.It makes the unit, your ball mount or your weight distribution head assembly feel a lot lighter than it actually is. This product is made in the USA. It's covered with a lifetime warranty. Again, it is designed for ball mounts and weight distribution head assemblies that have a 2 5/16" hitch ball.

That's going to do it for today's look at the hitch grip carrying tool.

Questions and Comments about this Video

From the video, it looks like you must be be sure that the ball grip portion of tool is centered on the hitch ball. If not couldnt the tool slip off the ball and land on your foot.

Reply from Rachael H.

Yes, it is a good idea to have the trailer ball centered in the, but as you can see about 2 minutes when removing the HitchGrip it was a little difficult, so it should be secure fit. That is also why there is a restriction on the product page that indicates that this item only works with trailer balls that do not have a neck diameter greater than 1-5/16. I have included a link to another one of our installation videos for your reference. 48867
