Before selecting the appropriate hitch ball and ball mount, you will want to check the gross trailer weight, GTW, and tongue weight, TW, capacities of your 2007 Ford F-150 and your trailer hitch. If you are going to be towing a car hauler, then you will want a ball and mount with the highest possible GTW and TW that is compatible with your truck and trailer hitch. I would definitely recommend a 2-5/16 hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank like the Curt Trailer Hitch Ball, part # 63840, and a ball mount like the Draw-Tite Ball Mount, part # 40331. The thicker shank will provide more support when towing a trailer.

I have included a link to an article that will help you measure for the correct ball mount so you can tow your trailer as level as possible. You should choose the ball mount after you have determined the proper rise or drop needed to tow your trailer level. We also offer adjustable ball mounts like part # 3371802225. The adjustable ball mount will allow you to swap ball sizes and adjust the rise or drop if needed for a different trailer.
