Question:
Lippert LCI 2 5th wheel controller leveling problems the verbiage and words are missing on our display for our leveling jacks. the back light display lights up but no verbiage. used multimeter the check battery, auto resets by the battery, power to the 5th wheel controller part# 14346 and everything is getting power. disconnected the plug from the display for several minutes. error message of 9to acknowledge. unplugged continued testing, etc. plugged back in and blank display again, no verbiage. unplugged display again checked wiring FROM 5th wheel controller part#14346 3 wires were getting 12v however, the yellow wire in the plug was only getting 6V! Im not getting 12v to all 4 wires from part#14346. I hope you can help?? Thanks,

I sent all of this to my tech contact at LCI to see what they this is the problem and they were able to come up with a way to use the voltage readings to determine where the issue is:
There are 4 wires on the harness as follows
Black= power (need to see 12 volts)
Green= ground
Yellow= signal wire (need to see 5 to 9 volts)
Red= signal wire (need to see 5 to 9 volts)
If voltage coming into controller is 12 volts but less than 12 volts at touch pad we have a bad controller, # LC242623.
If we have more than 9 volts on the red or yellow wires we have a bad touch pad which used to be available as # LC234802 but currently not.
No words on the touch pad is usually a circuit board issue within the touch pad. I would suggest replacing the touch pad and the system should work again
