Question:

Hello, I have a Ram 3500lb jack installed on my 14’ dump trailer The jack will raise the trailer but will not lower it also the ligh does not work

There could be a few different issues with your electric trailer jack. The most common issue we see is a bad ground so be sure to sand down the surface that the jack is grounded to and then use new hardware when reinstalling. If this does not work then you will want to lower the jack manually to make sure none of the internal components are damaged. If all is good with the ground and internal components then you will need to test power going to and from the extend/retract switch as well as of the on/off switch for the light. If these are bad then we actually offer replacements for them, part # EJ-3520-PSW and part # EJ-3520-LSW.

If none of the above work then it is time to just replace the jack for which I recommend the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack part # UF38-944017 as an upgrade with faster operation and much better warranty (5 Year Vs. 1 Year).
