Question:

I recently installed this unit in my motorhome. I use it mostly with Onan 4000 generator, rarely landline power. Does this 13500 unit already have a start capacitor, or is one needed. Seems to operate fine but dont want to find out later on the road. Thanks.

The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner part # ACM135 does not come with any sort of integrated start capacitor but this can be added using the Start Capacitor for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners part # ACMSCKIT. The start capacitor will bring down the amps required to start the unit which will help ease the strain on your generator as well as when you have it hooked up to shore power. I highly recommend adding one as it is a very cost effective, worthy investment.
