Can I use this adapter to power the third brake light on a leer cap from a new 2019 Ram

Actually, the correct part to wire in a truck bed cap's third brake light is the converter # PP20-702. Since your 2019 Ram's turn signals and brake lights run on one circuit this separates them so the light on the cap functions with just the brake lights. Each yellow wire connects to the truck's brake light/turn signal circuits, one on each side, and then the green wire goes to the third brake light. You can use the truck's trailer wiring to find the proper brake and turn signal circuits. It's easier than finding the correct wires behind the tail lights.

If you somehow connect part # 118384 to the Leer cap the brake and turn signals will still be combined making the third brake light not function properly.
