Is There A Way To Test the Brake Magnets Without Removing the Hubs/Drums On a Trailer

Question:
I was wondering if there is away to test the trailer brake magnets with out pulling the drums off. I have been getting an error codes ol and sh. Thank you

The process to test the brake magnets on a trailer does require you to remove the hub/drums, there is no way around this unfortunately. However, testing the brake magnets which can be see in the attached article is really only a last ditch effort. I would first start off by resetting the brake controller which can be done by unplugging if from the vehicle and then waiting 15 minutes or so before plugging it back in. If you still have issues then trace the blue brake output wire from the vehicle to the trailer while checking for shorts. If you still get the same errors then also check the ground to your trailer connectors and brake magnets but it might also be an issue with the brake controller.
