Where is Drop Measured on Trailer Axle

Question:
where do you measure to get the amount of drop I measured center of axle to center of spindle and get about 5inch

You measured the drop correctly. It would be from the center of the axle to the center of the spindle. That dimension would be the drop. See picture I attached.
