Does Foam Bumper Support Need to be Trimmed When Installing Draw-Tite Hitch on 2017 Outback

Question:
Will I need to trim foam support? Fascia will not go back on with foam support installed

Expert Reply:
The foam bumper support on your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon does not need to be trimmed when installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76227. Because the hitch itself adds to the overall thickness it will be a tighter fit when snapping the fascia back on but you should be able to accomplish this without having to modify the foam piece.
Looking through a few of our customer reviews that mention this particular aspect of the install it looks like it took a bit more effort to get it in place but they were eventually able to without too much of an issue.
I have attached an installation video on the 2017 Outback that you can use for reference.
