Can 90-Degree Brake Line Be Straightened for Installation Clearance

Question:
The current 90° flair fitting on the caliper routes the flex line directly into a cross member on my trailer frame. Can I replace that with a straight one or can I bend the 1inch piece at the flex line without ruining it? Or can I run the bracket on reverse side? Its going on a tri axle boat trailer. This issue is on the center axle only.

Expert Reply:
Yes, you can replace the 90-degree flare fitting with a straight line on your disc brake installation or you can straighten out the bend in the existing 90-degree fitting. There is less risk of crimping the line when you straighten one out than than when you try to put a bend into a straight one but do this slowly and carefully if that is your choice. If you can slide a piece of wire into the line before you apply force to it this will help prevent internal crimping.

Hello, Can the current 90 degree fitting that the brake line connects to on the Kodiak 225 caliper be tightened or loosened 90 degrees to help eliminate the risk of frame contact? If not is there a 90 degree fitting avaialble. Thank you in advance.
