Is it Okay for PSI Rating of Tire to Increase from 110 to 130 During Travel
Updated 05/14/2019 | Published 05/13/2019 >
Question:
Our St225 R16 G rated tires with a cold pressure of 110 psi increase to 132psi according to our TPMS monitor system when running at 60 mph. What is the usual warm safe tire pressure ? We have our TPMS set to alarm at 130 psi.

I spoke to our tire guy here at etrailer and he said that as long as you are staying within the limits of the tire then the psi increasing by 22 isn't a big deal.
For example, the Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWPRG235R16 has a load range of G (4,400 lbs at 110 psi for singles or 3,860 lbs at 110 psi for duals) and a speed rating of 81 mph. When calculating the max tire weight capacity you simply add the weight capacity of each tire together so if you are using 4 of these single tires your capacity is 17,600 lbs. As long as you aren't exceeding this weight capacity or traveling faster than the max speed rating for your tires then you are just fine.
