When you’re towing serious weight, you need a wheel that’s as tough as the rest of your setup. The Dexstar 16" x 6" Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel is rated for 3,750 lbs and built from sturdy steel that meets Department of Transportation standards. It’s the kind of solid construction that gives you confidence when hauling gear, equipment, or anything that pushes the limits of a single-wheel setup.
Moisture and road grime can eat through lesser wheels fast, but this one’s protected inside and out. A white powder coat finish is layered over an e-coat primer for excellent corrosion resistance. It keeps the wheel looking clean and helps it hold up whether you’re storing your trailer outside or logging miles on wet roads.
A positive offset isn’t just a spec—it’s a design choice that affects how your trailer tracks. The +0.5 offset positions the wheel closer to the frame, giving it a stable stance and even weight distribution across the hub. That means smoother handling and less stress on bearings and suspension parts during long hauls.
No guesswork here—the wheel uses a common 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern and accepts either 1/2"-20 or 9/16"-18 wheel bolts. The pilot diameter is 4.90", and it’s fitted for TR13 valve stems, which are standard on most modern setups. Everything lines up cleanly and installs without hassle so you can get rolling sooner.
Its mini mod design gives a simple, functional look that also happens to be easy to keep clean after dusty or muddy runs. The circular vent holes break up heat buildup while adding a bit of visual detail—proof that practical can look good too.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today we're going to review part number AM20759. This is the Americana 16" by 6" steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel. Has the 8 on 6 1/2" bolt pattern. Is white in color. This is a sturdy steel construction. Has a very nice, white powder-coat finish that's put over an E-coat primer over the front and the back of the wheel.
This will give you excellent corrosion resistance. This is the Mini Mod design and by that we mean it has the round holes, usually 10 round holes around the outer edge. This wheel also has a positive offset, which will ensure that the wheel's positioned closer to the trailer frame. This is a high quality wheel. It meets the Department of Transportation specifications. A few specs on this wheel.
It is 16" in diameter by 6" in width and basically, if you go to measure that, any time you go to measure a wheel, what you'll be measuring is where the tire beads would seat on the wheel. When a tire is mounted on this wheel, the beads would seat right in here, so if you measure the diameter you'll go inside to inside, or bead seat to bead seat. See, 16" is the diameter of the wheel and then on the width we'll do the same thing. You'll measure inside to inside, or bead seat to bead seat, so the width on this wheel is going to be right at 6". 16" diameter, 6" in width. The bolt pattern, you can see, is an 8 lug on 6 1/2" bolt pattern and on a wheel that has an even number of lugs, like in this case, eight, the way to measure the bolt pattern if you need to is pick any of the holes and then go from that hole directly across from it to the other hole and you measure center to center.
In this case, if we measure from this hole to this hole, this'll give you center to center is 6 1/2", so 8 lugs, 6 1/2" bolt pattern. Now this does use a wheel lug size of a 1/2" by 20. The pilot hub diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer, the diameter on that opening is going to be right at 4.9". The weight capacity on this wheel is 3,750 pounds. Now one last spec I do want to give you, it's a very important specification, is the offset. We had mentioned earlier it has a positive offset.
Basically, this wheel has a 1/2" positive offset and what the offset means is the back of the wheel right here, this is the surface that goes up against the hub on your trailer, on normal trailer wheels or a lot of trailer wheels, this measurement where this mounting surface is is right in line with the center line of the wheel. That would be a zero offset. On this wheel, this has a 1/2" positive so this mounting surface actually moves from that center line to the outside of the wheel, 1/2", so basically from that zero center line 1/2" out to the face of the outside of the wheel, so what that allows you to do is this will position the wheels and tires closer to your trailer frame. That should do it for the review on part number AM20759, the Americana 16" by 6" steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel with the 8 on 6 1/2" bolt pattern. .
