Can Spare Tire Carrier be Used Under Trailer
Updated 04/01/2019 | Published 03/29/2019 >
Question:
Can this be mounted upside down underneath a trailer? I realize it would be tough to access, but a nice way to carry a spare tire, you hopefully, wouldnt need. Also, how many mounting holes are drilled around edges and what is the hole size? Thank you.

There are great options for spare tire carriers on your trailer, but I do not recommend using the Buyers Products Spare Tire Carrier # 3375201010 or mounting it under a trailer. Bolting it on, in particular, is not something you would want to do in this instance so if you did decide to use it under your trailer you will definitely want to weld it on.
The spare tire carrier I highly recommend instead is the Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier # FHDSTC0101 because it will mount your trailer tire nearly 5" above the frame for added clearance and is easy to mount, simply clamping on.
The Fulton Hi-Mount will fit trailer tongues that are a maximum of 3" wide x 5" tall which is the majority of them and will fit wheels that have 4, 5, or 6 lugs (though if you have 5 lugs it will only fit a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern) and are up to 16-1/2" in diameter.
I have added links to video reviews of this spare tire carrier for you to take a look at.
