Will Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack Damage Spoiler on 2018 Ford Edge

Question:
It would seem that the straps that affix the top of the bike rack lay over the cars rear spoiler. I have two concerns, that the straps would wear the paint off the spoiler and that when tightening the straps, that the spoiler can get bent out of shape. Do you have any experience with this rack and this concern?

The Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack # Y02634 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2018 Ford Edge and it features an adjustable base that is designed specifically to account for factory rear spoilers.
I definitely understand your concern with this area on the vehicle and I will tell you that there are many trunk mount carriers that we don't like recommending for use on these types of vehicles for exactly the reasons you mentioned (physical damage to the spoiler or wear to the paint/finish, etc). Yakima though has physically tested this rack on your vehicle and because of its design it will not cause any issues with regards to the spoiler.
There are a few custom install notes mentioned in the manual that you will just want to follow when mounting the rack. This will ease up any pressure from the straps that would otherwise be put on the spoiler. This includes changing the included upper hooks to anchor mode and placing the lower strap hooks at the bottom edge of the hatch lid.

Hi there, I am looking at purchasing the Yakima Fullback 3 for my 2006 Honda Civic 4 Dr Sedan WITH SPOILER. Will the device install over the spoiler without issue?

Hi, I was really interested in getting this bike rack. I was wondering if it would be able to fit a 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport. As well, would this comfortably fit one mens hybrid bike and a womens cruiser?
