SumoSpring Rear Axle Recommendation for 2017 Silverado 1500

Updated 03/22/2019 | Published 03/21/2019

Question:

I have a 2017 Silverado 1500 CC Z71, 5.3 liter, 3.42 rear end with Fox 2.0 coilovers to level the front 2.0 shocks in rear as well. I tow a 25 foot travel trailer, dry weight about 5500 and fully loaded 7500 lbs, tongue weight between 675-700 lbs, 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog. Im a couple hundred pounds under my total GVWR after fully loaded. I use an eaz-lift Trekker WDH and its worked really well but I still have a slight bit of sag due to the level in the front. Planning on getting SumoSprings but not sure if I need the 1000lb or 1500lb model.

Expert Reply:

For your truck setup and trailer tongue weight of 700-lbs or less I would go with the 1000-lb Super Springs kit, part # SSR-209-40, which is the one you referenced in your question. These will engage with enough resistance to give you load support for leveling the rear without making the ride quality too harsh.

An install video and written instructions are linked for you.
