Helpful Expert Reply:
The Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 will go into a sleep mode after 15 minutes of inactivity. In this sleep mode it will still draw power in order to keep the saved settings but only around a few milliamps. It would take several months of the vehicle sitting in order for the brake controller to draw enough power to drain the vehicle's battery. If you like, you can unplug the brake controller to negate all power draw but this would also cause you to lose your settings.
