How Far Do Trailer Hub Seals Need to be Installed Into Hub

Question:
When setting the seals on my Dexter 12k oil bath axles, will the seal stop? Or do is there a point to stop at?

Basically you need the seal in the hub to sit either totally flush or slightly recessed and it will do it's job. Based on the picture you sent in your seal is properly seated.
