Question:
What does normally closed mean? I need this switch for my RV slideout. The storage bins below my slideout all have these switches to keep the slideout from moving when a bin door is open. So, I need a switch that allows power to travel through the switch whenever the button is closed. Normally is a confusing term because it doesn’t indicate when power is on or off. Please advise which part I need.

A normally closed circuit is one that has continuity in its normal position. The normal position of the Lippert Components Kwikee 3/4" Core Round Magnetic Door Switch part # LC379400 is when the plunger is depressed. Therefore, continuity will flow through the switch when the plunger is depressed but not when the plunger is extended. If you need a similar switch that is normally open then you will want to use the Lippert Components Kwikee Pleated Plunger Door Switch part # LC379407.
