Deflection of 2,200 lb Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System
Updated 01/15/2019 | Published 01/14/2019 >
Question:
I am working on designed a trailer with the Timbren 1 Tonne HD Axle-less suspension. This seams like the perfect suspension, however, I am not sure what ride height to select. The documentation suggests that the suspension has a total deflection of 3 3/8. Is there any documentation that shows how much deflection to expect based on the weight of the trailer?

I reached out to a representative of Timbren who told me that the 3-3/8 inch deflection of the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR1THDS02 is with a loaded trailer. As for the 5-5/16 inch measurement also shown in the photo, that is the distance from the center of the spindle to the bottom of the trailer frame.
Since they have a capacity of 2,200 lbs you would want to select them if the trailer you are building has a maximum GVWR of 2,200 lbs, which is a way of knowing how much deflection you will get based on the maximum weight of the trailer.
I have added links to a couple video reviews of the Timbrens for you to check out as well.
