How to Choose 5th Wheel Hitch with Correct Height for Towing with a 2018 Ram 2500

Question:
I have bought a 2018 Dodge tradesmen 4x4 2500 and I am worried about the factory height of the truck being able to pull a fifth wheel camper

The newer pickups, like your 2018 Ram 2500, that sit higher than past models do pose a potential issue with 5th wheel towing but there are a variety of 5th wheel trailers out there that have adjustable heights for you to choose from.
Measure from the ground to the floor of your Ram bed when it is on level ground and then measure from the ground to the bottom of your pin box when your 5th wheel trailer is on level ground (and it is leveled) then the difference between those 2 numbers gives you the height that you need your 5th wheel hitch to sit at.
If you can take those measurements and let me know what they are as well as let me know the length of your bed and if you have the OEM prep package I can make a 5th wheel hitch recommendation for you from the linked selection.
