I am wondering what the tab on the Wheel Retaining Ring - for 9,000 to 12,000 lb Item # 33-52-1. Does the tab face inwards or outward? Does it line up with anything? What is its purpose? Thank you.

The tab of the Wheel Retaining Ring # 33-52-1 faces out so that the taper of the ring matches the lug nuts like the part # 6-109. If you check out the review video I attached for this product you'll see how the lugs mate to the plate. It's purpose is for having something to grab onto like with pliars for removal or placement.
