Troubleshooting Weak Trailer Brakes with New Magnets

Question:

I have got a 2004 Dodge 3500 1 ton I have had I got a Dexter 3 axle trailer 7000 lb axles under it and I can hit my brakes and it will not stop me I have put new shoes new magnets and wires and it will not stop me could there be a difference in the magnets that I put on

Most likely your trailer brakes are just out of adjustment. You will want to have the adjustment screw tightened to the point where the wheel locks up and then back it off 10 clicks. Check out the video I attached at the 4:25 mark to see the entire process.
