Troubleshooting Trailer Connection Functions on 2011 Chevy Silverado

Question:

Only right brake light and turn signal work when I hook my trailer to my 2011 silverado. Checked other pins with test light and not getting power to pins. Help

The first thing to check on your 2011 Silverado is your fuses. If you have a 1500, then you will want to check fuse numbers 3, 6,10, 25, and 68. I can't find the online manual for the 2500 or 3500 of that model year, so if you have that model, check your owner's manual for the fuse locations and relays if present for trailer functions.

If you have power at the fuses and the fuses are good, then you will need to trace the wires with the circuit tester like # PTW2993 testing every few feet for shorts. I've attached an article to help with function locations at your bumper 7-way.
