Arm Will Not Release on a Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar
Updated 09/17/2018 | Published 09/15/2018 >
Question:
I have a Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain tow bar, model 522 The driver’s side inner arm seems to be locked in the extended position. The arm is not bent, nor does it partially retract. Triggering the unlock lever does not release the arm. I can feel solid metal to metal contact as if the mechanism is not letting go. I’ve remove the rubber end cap to be able to see down the square tubing. I can see the unlock lever moving but cannot see how it’s supposed to release. Any suggestions?

I spoke to my contact at Roadmaster about your Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar part # RM-522 and they informed me that the arm has been overextended which has then caused it to lock out. In order to release the arm you will first want to remove the dust cap by the latch assembly. Then once the dust cap is removed you will want to take a screwdriver and press down on the anvil inside the arm which I have attached a photo of for you.
Please let me know once completed and if the issue is fixed or needs further troubleshooting.
