Question:
Hauling same truck and 3 Horse GN steel horse trailer. It would get squeaky and if so would grease. But earlier this year on a trip it got tremendously loud creaking not just squeaking and did some all around cleaning and greased ball, went on trip est 2 hour there and back, home and ranch, then local 30 min drive and daily 15 min drive for 3 days and it starts the noise again. Up to then was very quiet, and within a few days of the 15 min trips, ran about 30 min back to ranch and again 30 min trip home but not so bad, left for trip est 3 hour drive and super creaky noise by time got there. Got home and greased again to go on another trip and absolutely quiet.......for about 30 min trip to ranch and started, by time got to destination in 2 hours VERY loud again from greased night before. Greasing use to last many trips, now not a 2 hour destination. I am concerned as sounds like metal fatigue. How do I verify if my BandW hitch is somehow damaged or damaged the GN hitch? It gets to sound like something is going to break off, and really noticed on stopping or starting. If not the ball, why would greasing silent the noise? Thank you in advance!

Most likely the issue is not the ball of your B and W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch part # BWGNRK1111 and it's the coupler on your trailer. You can inspect the ball though and make sure it's not damaged in any way. For a replacement we have the part # BWGNXA2000.
Depending on what coupler your trailer has it could have an inner tube on it that could be replaced. I'd have to know what coupler you have or see a picture to verify if we could help with that.
