The Replacement Trailer Brake Magnet for 12" Brake Assemblies # BP01-180 will fit old Hayes AL-KO brake Assemblies that are 12x2 inches. They fit 6K and 7K assemblies after 1988. For the 7.2K and 8K oval you would want the Trailer Brake Magnet For Dexter 12-1/4 Brake Assembly, White Wire # BP01-265 instead.

Expert reply by Adam R indicate that 12 by 2 inch brake round electromagnets are no longer available. However you indicate that for my 12 by 2 inch pre 1988 electromagnets can be replaced with electromagnets BP01=180. I am confused, I need magnet to replace round ones that are 2 and 5/8 inches by 3/4 inch thick with a metal mounting tab exiting where the black wires exit. Can you enlighten me?
