Replacement Hitch Ball for Curt Pintle Hook Combo Dimensions

Question:

What is the total height of the ball inside the pintle? That is, the height from the flat of the base to the top of the ball. This would tell me what the pintle opening should be when it is in the locked position. Thanks

I went down to our warehouse and measured the Replacement Hitch Ball for Curt Pintle Hook Combo # C48820. The height of the ball inside the pintle is 2-1/2 inches (see picture). The overall height of the hitch ball is 5 inches.
