Hello, I am looking at these to hold 6 inch PVC pipe carrier for carrying vaulting poles. How wide do the brackets expand and how tall are they? Thank you!

There is actually a carrier specifically for your application. Well, not vaulting poles, but 6 inch PVC pipe. Take a look at Conduit Carrier Kit # RP7054900. It fits 6 inch diameter PVC schedule 40 or 80 and this set up can be locked using a padlock with 7/16" max diameter shackle.
The Rhino-Rack carrier # RRRMPHU is not large enough to properly support a 6 inch diameter pipe. The straps also would have a hard time reaching all the way around.
