Will it plug into this socket on the Camper? See attached pic.

For a 7-way to install in the bed of your truck up near the front you'd want the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # 41157 which is as confirmed fit and would work well.
We had the chance to install this in a 2017 Ram 2500 just like yours as well. See install video below.
