We have seen this issue before with the factory Class V hitches on various model trucks, such as what is on your 2017 Ford F-250. What we recommend doing is looping safety cables like the RoadMaster # RM-910648-12 through the safety chain hooks on the hitch and then hooking the safety chains to the loops. These cables feature a weight capacity of 8,000 pounds each.
We have not found a particular hook or adapter large enough to fit the safety chain loops on the factory hitch for your F-250.
