Question:

I have a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ, with the channel front bumper. And I have a Roadmaster 5000 tow bar. What base plate will I need for this tow bar to attach to my Jeep ? Note: attached picture shows bumper removed for refurbishing. Thanks

We have three Roadmaster base plate fits for the 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ with the u-channel bumper that appear on the linked page. These items are the fixed-install Classic # 1417-1, and the kits with removable arms, EZ5 # RM-521424-5 and the EZ4 kit # RM-521424-4. These different base plate kits are suited to difference versions of the vehicle, as noted.

The base plate kits also vary in their tow bar compatibility.

There is no tow bar model 5000 but the Roadmaster Tracker tow bar # RM-020 does have a 5000-lb weight rating. This tow bar is compatible with the Classic and EZ4 base plates but NOT with the EZ5 # RM-521424-5.
