Recommended Brake Controller and Installation on 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 with Factory Tow Package
Published 04/30/2018 >
Question:
Can you tell me if the trailer brake controller that you show as compatable with my 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L six speed automatic transmission 4 by 4 with crew cab and short box is a plug in set up to my tow vehicle? It came from the factory with what was called Factory Tow Package. Thanks!

Your 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L with factory tow package will easily allow a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. There is not a plug present under the dash, but the wires are already run. I've attached a video of this installation to assist. This will help you with the wiring color connections.
The P3 # 90195 is our most popular brake controller due to its LCD screen and preset options. It is extremely easy to use and extremely reliable. It is also able to be transferred between vehicles as needed. I've attached a couple of videos to assist.
