Can a 2012 Ford Transit Connect Carry Two 194 Pound Scooters on a Hitch-Mounted Carrier

Question:
I have a 2012 ford Transit connect with this hitch and I would like to be able to use a 2 motorcycle hitch carrier with it. The TW of the hitch is listed as 350 and the WD TW as 400. The carrier Im looking to use is 64lbs with a 194lb weight for each scooter for a total combined load of 452lbs. Obviously this exceeds the limit, but I was wondering if adding 4 over the door car clips and straps to the leading edge- like the Car Clips for Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag Item # RL100605, would be enough to compensate for the difference and add some stability. When using a trailer hitch for hitch-mounted accessories such as a motorcycle carrier you will have to go by the weight carrying capacity only. In this case for trailer hitch # 75678 on the 2012 Ford Transit Connect you are limited to 350 pounds. There is no safe way to carry both scooters on a carrier on the Transit Connect. Your best and safest option is to put the scooters on a small trailer such as # K2MMT4X6 or something similar obtained locally.
